A total package of £46,000

The on target earning potential of this role is £46,000, made up of a base salary of £36,000, committed minimum tronc of £10,000, and an additional qualified estimate of £1.86 in service charge, per hour worked.

ABOUT THE JOB:

We’re looking for a Head Chef with strong leadership, creativity, and a passion for doing things properly. At Henry’s, you’ll set the tone in the kitchen — leading by example, inspiring your team, and ensuring every dish reflects care, consistency, and the best of seasonal ingredients. From developing menus to managing costs, you’ll play a key role in shaping the food experience that keeps guests coming back.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:

  • Lead the kitchen team to create a positive, collaborative environment that promotes pride, morale, and commitment.

  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently each day and consistently delivers high standards of food preparation and service.

  • Uphold the company’s menu policy and ensure all dishes meet required standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.

  • Develop, cost, and maintain recipes for all dishes, ensuring they meet target margins and reflect seasonal produce.

  • Conduct regular stock takes, manage ordering, and monitor food and stock movements to achieve desired GP% and minimise waste.

  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior chefs, holding regular discussions about goals and progression.

  • Lead by example in maintaining exceptional food hygiene and safety standards; ensure all Health & Safety procedures and documentation are followed.

  • Communicate effectively across departments, attending meetings and sharing key information with the kitchen team.

  • Ensure all kitchen and service areas meet company standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture where everyone feels supported and motivated to deliver great service.
