The on target earning potential for this role is £14.01 per hour - comprising a base hourly rate of up to £12.21, plus a qualified estimate of £1.80 per hour*

ABOUT THE JOB:

We’re looking for a Breakfast Chef to join the team at The Bull & Swan - an award-winning kitchen known for hearty food, good company, and a proper pint or two. You’ll be a vital part of the kitchen team, keeping everything spotless, organised, and running smoothly behind the scenes. It’s a hands-on role where teamwork, energy, and attention to detail really matter.

You’ll take ownership of the morning service - preparing and delivering breakfast to a consistently high standard, while keeping the kitchen organised, efficient, and ready for the day ahead. You’ll work closely with the wider kitchen team, supporting smooth handovers into lunch service and maintaining the standards that define a Woodford kitchen.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:

  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of breakfast service each day.

  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard.

  • Ensure all mise en place is completed ahead of service and the kitchen is set up for success.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail across preparation, cooking, and presentation.

  • Work to company and Head Chef standards, ensuring consistency across all dishes.

  • Support and guide junior team members where required.

  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth transition into later services.

  • Contribute ideas for dishes or improvements that reflect seasonality and quality ingredients.

  • Manage food storage, labelling, and stock rotation in line with Health & Safety requirements.

  • Control waste and portioning to support food cost and margin targets.

  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and safe at all times, following cleaning schedules.

  • Uphold all Health & Safety, food hygiene, and fire safety standards.

  • Arrive on time, well-presented, and ready to take ownership of the morning service.

  • Raise any issues or concerns promptly with the Sous or Head Chef.
