ABOUT THE JOB:
As Assistant Pub Manager at Henry’s, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the pub, supporting the Pub Manager and stepping up with confidence when needed.
This is a hands-on role, rooted in service, standards, and people - you’ll be visible on the floor, setting the tone for warm hospitality and smooth service.
You’ll help train and motivate the team, keep operations running to Woodford standards, and make sure guests leave happy, looked after, and keen to return. It’s a role for someone ready to take on responsibility, grow their leadership skills, and be part of a close-knit pub team.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:
Lead from the floor during service, setting the standard for pace, warmth, and professionalism.
Support the Pub Manager in delivering consistent service and meeting guest satisfaction targets.
Be present on the floor during key service times (12–2pm and 7–9pm as a minimum).
Help train, coach, and support the team, ensuring new starters are properly inducted.
Run daily pre-service briefings to keep the team informed and focused.
Assist with rota planning, staffing levels, and holiday management in line with forecast.
Maintain high standards across food, drink, cleanliness, and presentation.
Handle guest feedback and complaints calmly and professionally, escalating where needed.
Support stock control, ordering, and cost management in line with company targets.
Ensure licensing, Health & Safety, food hygiene, and security procedures are followed at all times.
Step up to manage the pub in the absence of the Pub Manager.
