ABOUT THE JOB:
As Night Porter at The William Cecil, you’ll be responsible for the hotel overnight — supporting guests as needed, and ensuring the building is safe, secure, and beautifully prepared for the day ahead. You’ll work independently but closely connected to the wider team, taking pride in detail, organisation, and thoughtful service.
This role suits someone reliable, observant, and comfortable taking responsibility. From guest requests and night audits to preparing the restaurant for breakfast, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the calm, polished experience our guests expect.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:
Be a calm, welcoming presence for guests throughout the night, handling enquiries with professionalism and warmth.
Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and the building, carrying out regular security and fire checks.
Manage late check-ins, early departures, wake-up calls, and guest requests efficiently and discreetly.
Serve bar drinks and room service overnight where required, to company standards.
Operate the hotel telephone system confidently, ensuring messages and requests are handled promptly.
Carry out night audit procedures accurately and in line with company processes.
Prepare public areas, meeting rooms, and the restaurant for the following day, ensuring everything is set to standard.
Set up the breakfast buffet ahead of service and assist with breakfast service when required.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in public areas overnight, following agreed cleaning schedules.
Communicate clearly with the Reception and Duty Manager, reporting any guest issues or incidents.
Uphold all company standards, Health & Safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations at all times.
Arrive on time, well-presented, and ready to take responsibility for the hotel overnight.
